9 month pictures

I finally got a chance to shoot Cole's 9 month pictures....I still haven't had a chance to edit his Easter pictures, but maybe soon :)

The next photo shoot I will have with him will be his one year old portraits (tear!!)

9 month old stats

At Cole's 9 month check up today, he weighed 19lbs 14oz and was 28 1/2 inches long. This put him in the 50th percentile for weight and the 60th percentile for height.

This little boy will EAT ANYTHING...fruits, veggies, oatmeal, etc.. However, he won't drink his formula like he should. Dr. Stone said to go ahead and start him on some whole milk in hopes that he will drink it. Cole also doesn't really drink juice or water. Thankfully since he is growing at a healthy weight, I'm not too terribly worried.



We are LOVING this warm weather! Cole absolutely loves to swing and will be visiting the zoo for the first time tomorrow.

A few pictures

Dal's mom found these cute baseball pants for Cole as well as two shirts monogrammed with his name on the back. We seem to play well every time Cole wears his red Rebel shirt and baseball pants so I guess we know what he will be wearing for the remainder of the season :)



















Cole and Dal throw the ball back and forth to one another a lot. Whenever I sit down to throw the ball with him, he just looks at me like "no offense Mom, but I'd rather throw with my Daddy".







Scott, Lynn, and John Thomas came to our game last Friday. I had lots of fun with them...thanks for coming out guys!!

9 months old!

My little baby is already 9 months old! I haven't taken his 9 month pictures yet, but hope to sometime this week. We go for his check up on Thursday to get all those nasty shots :(

Dal's team beat Minor last Friday so we advance to the 2nd round! Congrats Dal and team! We will host Hueytown this Friday at 4:30 and 6:30. I have lots of cute pictures from the last game but just haven't had the time to upload them. I'm hoping I will have the time this week to catch up on all my pictures :)

Baseball playoffs

I put a baseball background on our blog because Dal's baseball team just won their area and are headed to the playoffs!!! I am so proud of them :) This Thursday we will be going to eat with the team and then have an egg toss competition. Dal started this "eat and egg toss tradition" a few years ago and the boys love it. Our first playoff game is this Friday against Minor on our home field. Games are at 4:30 and 7:00.


Congrats to Josh Johnson (Pleasant Grove) and Shayne Carnes (Mortimor Jordan) for making playoffs too!!!

Happy Easter!

Cole had a pretty good first Easter. We dyed eggs on Saturday night and it went well but later on (3am to be exact) we were woken up by a HORRIBLE cough. I called the Dr. office this morning and according them, it sounds like Cole has the Croup!!! Poor baby just can't get a break!!! Since Cole didn't have a fever and wasn't contagious we headed to church.He has done pretty well with his cough today but supposedly it gets worse at night, so say a prayer for us before you go to bed please :) Oh, by the way, his foot is doing MUCH better and we are just putting a band aid on it now.

We live next to Hoover-Randle house so had to sneak over (well, ok trespass) to get a few pictures in their pretty yard. We didn't get to to the really pretty parts of their yard because we didn't want them to think we were completly crazy! Thankfully we weren't arrested for trespassing AND we got pretty pictures!

I cooked lunch for us and Dal's parents...yes, that's right...I COOKED!!! Nobody got food poisoning so I'm assuming it was a success. We then headed over to my parents' house. My mother has hurt her back very badly so they weren't able to join us for church or lunch :( Cole loved his Easter goodies from them. I think the baseball easter eggs were his favorite....he is all into throwing things now.

A week of fun with family!

We had a fun week with family. Derek, Jill, Lake, Carter and Anna visited so we made the best of what little time they had in Alabama. On Wednesday, we met up them, along with Pappy, Mimi, Aunt Barb, Uncle Ken and their grandkids Preston and Sawyer. We fished at Star Lake then headed over to Wald Park so the kids could play. This was the first time Cole had been in a swing and he LOVED it! Sadly, Dal had to work and couldn't come. My mom was able to stop by on her back from Montgomery. Afterwards, Jill, Anna, Cole and I headed over to Morris Ave for a VERY quick photo shoot of Anna (those pictures will be posted on my photography blog soon).
We were sad to see the Lanes leave but look forward to their return in June.

Update on Cole's foot

I was told to take the bandage off yesterday, so we did. The burns didn't looked healed enough to leave them off so Dal wrapped it back up. I took Cole back to the Dr. today and Dr. Hamm said one of the burns may be a little deeper than first expected :( He wrapped it back up and told me to bring Cole back on Wednesday to get another look at it.

Cole hasn't seemed to miss a beat...even with his wrapped up foot. He is still crawling around everywhere, pulling up, etc. I, on the other hand, will bear this scar on my heart forever. Everyone at the Dr. office have been so sweet to me. I guess they see the tears in my eyes and feel bad for me.

Lastly, Cole is cutting his first TWO teeth at the same time! I will try and get a pic of his toofies soon.

Cole's burned foot...

We had our first MAJOR boo boo yesterday.
I was cooking on the stove and without realizing that Cole had crawled over and was sitting right behind my legs, I turned to go dump the boiling water into the sink. I tripped over Cole but was able to keep my balance without falling or dropping the pot. However, some of the hot, boiling water spilled over right onto my poor baby's foot! Without knowing exactly what to do to a burn, I put his foot under cool water and then put Aquaphor on it. A while later, his foot started to blister, so I took him to Vestavia Pediatrics where Dr. Smith said it was second degree burns. I felt terrible and just couldn't help but cry. He bandaged his foot and put some cream on it and said to come back in the morning. So we went back this morn, and Cole's foot looked much better than expected. Dr. Smith put a new bandage and more cream on it and said to leave it on until Sunday. Hopefully it will be much better when I take off the bandage on Sunday.I just feel terrible that this happened to our little boy. I would have taken pictures of his little foot at the Dr. office today but I decided that this is one incident that I don't care to remember years from now.
