One step, two step, three step, four!!

Cole finally took his first steps today!!!!! He has been standing on his own and taking one or two steps but this was the first time he walked across the room by himself. Pappy was playing with him and all of a sudden Cole just took off across the room!!

This isn't the best video but it was the only one with him walking toward the camera and sorry I don't know how to rotate it upright...oh! and also please excuse the food in his hair :)

Meeting UA football players

I had to post several posts at once, so bear with me on all the catching up!!!

After Cole's Dr. visit, we headed over to the Galleria. It just so happened that Glen Coffee and Antoine Caldwell were in Bama Fever signing autographs!! So glad I had my camera!!

One year Dr. visit

Today at Cole's one year well visit, we weighed 22lbs 4oz and was 29 inches long...Dr. Stone said this put him in the 30-40% for both weight and height. I thought surely he would have moved up in % because this boy can eat....A LOT!!!!! We are just so thankful for a happy and healthy little boy!!!!

Bye Bye Coal Mines!!

Asa retired from the coal mines yesterday. We were there for his last ride on the "elevator".....At first, Cole didn't know who his Pappy was!! Congratulations on 31 years of coal mining Asa!

Fun at the lake!

We went to the lake with lots of my family recently. Brent and I tubed, which my body let me know was a BIG mistake :) We all had a blast!!! I wish I could see them more often!!

Cole's 1st birthday PARTY!

We had Cole's first birthday party this past Saturday. It was absolutely great. Aunts, uncles and cousins from Wetumpka and Tampa got to come, as well as local family and friends. We had a blast and I thank everyone who came to make this day special.

Cole really didn't eat any of his cake...instead he just played in it...guess he takes after his daddy on that one...I would have torn into it fast!

His actual birthday is this Friday (the 17th) and we will be heading to the lake on Saturday for a family get together.

Hopefully I will be able to photograph his one year portriats this week, so as soon as those are done, I'll post them!!!

Rest in peace PaPaw...we love you!

Yesterday my grandfather passed away after a long and hard battle with cancer. This is my first biological grandparent to pass away. I have been so fortunate to always have three sets of grandparents and Cole went from having six great-grandparents to having five.

My PaPaw absolutely adored Cole. When we visited him, he would call the nurses and other nursing home residents into his room to show off Cole to them. He told everyone that Cole has his blue eyes...we never had the heart to tell him that Dal has blue eyes :) He was soooo full of life. Over a year ago the doctors told us he had 6 months to live....he out lived all expectations and he was a fighter to put it lightly.

He went to be with The Lord in a very peaceful way and was surrounded by my mom and cousins. Dal, Cole and I tried our best to see him before he left us, but didn't get to Wetumpka in time. He knew how much he was loved and I'm just thankful that he isn't in any pain now.

We will be heading to Mississippi for the funeral...please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.

July 4th Fun!

We went to my grandparents' house for July 4th. It's always great to spend holidays with family :) We enjoyed sitting on the back porch, watching the birds while Cole played in his pool.

We have a busy week ahead getting ready for Cole's first birthday party. His birthday isn't until the 17th but we are having his party one week early. It seems impossible that we are about to have a ONE year old!!!!!
