Lots of posts to catch up on!

Cole turned 3 months old on Friday!! He reached his first milestone last Monday when he rolled over (flipped from tummy to his back) for the first time. Dal and I started cheering like he had just won a gold medal at the Olympics :) At a Dr. visit on Friday, he weighed 10lbs 13oz.

Mimi, Pappy, Nana, Paw Paw, Dal, Cole and I went to the Critter Farm on Saturday. Cole wasn't too sure what to think about all the animals! By the time we got to the pumpkins, Cole was ready for his nap!

"Ok, mom enough pictures...get me off this pumpkin!!!!"

Cole was dedicated on Sunday. We are so thankful the The Lord for our little boy! All of the good pictures are on my parents' camera but here's one picture of Cole pouting...check out that bottom lip!!!

After Cole's dedication on Sunday, Dal and I headed over to the Hoover Met for the Buddy Walk. We have some friends whose son has Downs, so we were excited and happy to sponsor sweet little Joshua. Some of Dal's baseball players even came out to support Joshua too!

As we do every year, my friends and I get together to carve pumpkins! Here's the Davis Family Pumpkin 2008!

Girls Beach Trip

Last weekend I went to the beach with my friends Amanda, Sara Katherine and Brooke. We had a BLAST, the weather was beautiful and it was a much needed girls vacation. The jelly fish were the biggest I've ever seen them!!! They washed up on the beach 5-10 at a time and by the end of the day, there were hundreds on the beach!

I didn't think I would be so emotional over leaving Cole, but I cried a good bit on the day we left :) Cole and Dal had a good boy's weekend spending time just the two of them.

I had my wisdom teeth pulled on Wednesday, so I'm recovering now. Thankfully we are blessed with our Aunt Barbara and Uncle Ken, who have come over to keep Cole and make sure I take my meds :)

Lastly, please keep my grandfather in your prayers. My mom's dad is in the hospital after having surgery to remove his lung cancer.

Cole's first trip to church

I was very nervous about taking Cole to church for the first time. We go to Shannon First Baptist (Coach Hannah's church for all you Grovers who know him) and the church is small. You can hear a pin drop, so a crying baby could get very disturbing. Cole did GREAT! He was alert and happy during the singing and when Coach Hannah started preaching, he whined a little. I took him out and he went right to sleep so I was able to go back in with him and listen to the rest of the sermon.

#2 in the AP Poll!!!

If there was ever a time to be a proud Bama fan, it is right now!!! We FINALLY have a coach that knows how to WIN!! I wish Saban was the coach while I went to UA, but better late than never. Hopefully I'll make it to a game soon to see old friends and see the Tide win another game!!!! ROLL TIDE!!

My happy baby is back!

Lil flirt!!!

My momma just cracks me up!

Between Cole, Dal, and me being sick, the last 2 weeks have been pretty rough. Cole is feeling better now and is back to being a happy baby. I still can't believe my baby is over 2 months old....the time has FLOWN by! At Cole's 2 month checkup he weighed 10lbs 3oz and is 22 3/4 inches long.

Our First Trip to Children's E.R.

It was been a whirl wind of a week! To start, I've had an upper respiratory infection all week long. Well Thursday night we noticed that Cole had a fever. Dal called the Dr.'s answering service and the nurse said to take him to Children's Hospital asap.

Once we got to Children's the Dr. explained that they take fevers VERY seriously for infants only 8 weeks old and haven't had their immunization shots. Poor Cole had to undergo a catheter, an iv, and even a spinal tap. They wanted to make sure he didn't have a viral or bacterial infection or meningitis. Thankfully he didn't, so it turns out that he probably caught what I had all week long. I hate that he had to go through all that, but I'm thankful for the outcome. Now we are dealing with a very fussy baby...it's obvious he doesn't feel good. I just hope my little boy gets to feeling better soon!

On a different note, please keep my brother, Brent, in your prayers. He lives in Houston and is dealing with the wrath of Ike. Houston was NOT under a mandatory evacuation and Brent said there was no way to evacuate because of all people that were ordered to leave from the Galvestan area, etc. He just bought a beautiful townhome (he had not even moved in yet) and it had some damage. It will be a long road for lots of Texans.

Somethig to smile about!

As of last Friday our little boy weighed 9lbs 5oz!!!!! He gained OVER a pound in just one week! The Dr. and nurse just couldn't believe it. He moved from being in the 15th percentile to the 40th percentile!! It seems that Baby Cole is well on his way! YEA!!!

Rebel Football!

Cole went to his first VHHS Rebel football game last Thursday! Dal's 7th grade team won their first game of the season.

Baby Cole gets more gifts!

Some of the teachers at Vestavia Hills High gave Dal a baby "shower" party today. Cole and I didn't get to go because he was spitting up so bad this morning. We got so many great things and Dal is so fortunate to work with the most kind hearted people. I plan on taking Cole to the school very soon to see all the people that gave him these great gifts. Thank you to all the VHHS staff....we feel so blessed to know you all!

Ok, I have to admit that while I LOVE all the gifts from the VHHS staff, this particular gift took my breath away!! Isn't it the cutest rocker!! Oh yes, and when you push the button the hat, it plays "Take Me Out To The Ballgame"!!!! (FYI...for those of you about to ask where it was bought from, the teacher won't tell...she's keeping it her little secret!! haha!!)
